That's Pro-Girl..... All about the Girl!
We wanted a shirt that everyone could wear in support of breast cancer funding, research, and awareness. It doesn't matter what color, race, gender, religion or sexuality we are...all of us are affected by breast cancer, be it directly or indirectly. For some of us, both.
I started Pro-Girl for my mom, dad, sister, wife, Grand Ma, Grand Pa, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, God children, fathers, mothers, wives, husbands, sisters, brothers, daughters, sons, friends, neighbors and strangers.
Pretty strong Army, ay? :-)
I've seen a gal at our local gym sporting Pro-Girl. A father pushing a stroller wearing Pro-Girl. A gal holding her girlfriends hand wearing Pro-Girl. My exterminator wears Pro-Girl. I wear Pro-Girl! (Quite proudly I might add!)
I think it's pretty safe to say we're all 'Pro-Girl'.
Each month 10% from every Pro-Girl shirt sold will be donated to:
Avon Walk for Breast Cancer.
Pro-Girl will make it's donations the 1st of each month. Every month
Pro-Girl will include on our web site a picture of the email/ receipt from
Avon Walk for Breast Cancer for our most recent donation.
Pro-Girl is promoted through women's health expos (San Francisco Women's Health Expo), street fairs (Whittier Family Fun Festival/Pico Rivera Easter Hop), LGBT Pride events (San Diego, Santa Barbara, Long Beach, San Francisco, Los Angeles and Palm Springs), local sporting events and word of mouth. So, get talking! :-)
Right now, I'm in training to bike ride from LA to NY in the Spring of 09 to
raise funds for not only breast cancer research but also for lung cancer, leukemia, MS, Childrens Hospital, lupus and prostate cancer research.
Just to name a few.
A new website will be up 4-16-09, GoEddieGo.com. There, you'll be able to donate directly to the charity of your choice. You'll also be able to track my daily progress.
As you can see we have big plans for Pro-Girl in the up comings months.
